Current Research on Yoga
People Do Research On Yoga!?
Yes! Yes, they do! The US National Library of Medicine and the US National Center for Biotechnology Information have a publicly available database of medical and scientific research with the title, publication, date, authors, and abstract of the research that is searchable by any term you can come up with. Additionally, you can - and I have for years now - set up an “alert” on certain search terms and combinations and receive an email when a new study is published in a reputable journal. For example, I currently have alerts on “Yoga and circadian Rhythm,” “Yoga and Inflammation,” “Yoga and Back Pain,” “Yoga and Pain,” - you get the idea!
Below are links to the spreadsheet where I keep track of the NLM/PubMed citations regarding research on yoga, how it works (it’s biological mechanism), its effects, and its effectiveness. Let me know if you find this interesting or helpful or if you read any of these articles and would like to discuss or respond to them.
Links are to Google Sheets where I keep these ongoing lists, in case this is of interest to you. They are updated when I get an alert and have a little time to look into it, which usually coincides with when I’m creating a series of classes, a new class, or something special for a private client.
Yoga on, My Friends!
